A Letter to All Pet Families in Chaska

Dear Chaska Veterinary Hospital Family,

My name is Colin Parrott, and I have the great privilege and honor of taking over from Dr. Waag, seeing patients at Chaska Veterinary Hospital starting February 1, 2019. Dr. Waag and I met years ago at a charity event for the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Foundation, where it quickly became evident that Dr. Waag’s skill at shooting clay pigeons is quite impressive (while mine was poor to very poor). We reconnected a few years ago, and the slow process of making this transition began.

I am a 2007 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and I have been practicing in Excelsior, MN for the last twelve years. Over the years, I have developed skills in advanced surgical and dental procedures, managing complex medical issues, and helping families navigate the day-to-day challenges of caring for their dog and cat family members, from the youngest to the most senior patients. However, what I cherish most over my twelve years at my prior clinic is the opportunity to develop long-term relationships–and in many cases, friendships–with the pets and their human owners. As a result, the decision to leave that position was not an easy one, but I am excited and honored to follow in Dr. Waag’s footsteps at Chaska Veterinary Hospital. I am hopeful that with time, I will be able to build those same relationships with each of you.

I live in Hopkins with my wife, Anne, our daughter Esme (4), son Gus (2), and our lovable, goofy Golden Retriever, Gary. You will probably end up seeing one or more of them around the clinic in the coming years; they won’t be shy in saying hi!

I look forward to meeting you and am grateful for the opportunity to do my best to live up to the high standards set by Dr. Waag.

Cheers,
Dr. Colin Parrott
